Our Story

Earthmover was founded in 2022 by a team of climate scientists, engineers, and market builders who saw a critical bottleneck in the carbon removal ecosystem: the absence of rigorous, scalable measurement infrastructure.

Without trusted measurement, no carbon market can function. Without trusted markets, capital cannot reach the removal projects that need it most. We set out to close that gap — building from the ground up, with scientific integrity at every layer.

Today, Earthmover operates sensor networks across four continents, works with over 40 project developers, and has registered more than 250,000 tonnes of verified carbon removal on our platform. Our work spans direct air capture, soil carbon, enhanced weathering, and ocean-based pathways.

Our Mission & Focus

Earthmover invests its technology and infrastructure into carbon removal pathways that are scientifically sound, commercially viable, and durable on centennial timescales.

Investment & Technology Thesis

We focus exclusively on durable carbon removal — pathways with permanence measured in centuries or millennia, not years. This means direct air capture with geological or mineralized storage, enhanced weathering, biochar at scale, and ocean alkalinity enhancement. We do not work with avoided-emissions offsets, REDD+, or near-term forestry credits that lack durability guarantees.

Our technology platform is pathway-agnostic but scientifically uncompromising. Every protocol on our platform is reviewed by our Carbon Science team, validated against independent field measurements, and updated as the science evolves.

Rigorous Science

Every MRV protocol Earthmover deploys is peer-reviewed, validated against field data, and subject to third-party audit. We publish our methodologies openly.

Market Transparency

We believe buyers deserve to see exactly what they are purchasing. Our platform provides real-time visibility into sensor data, uncertainty bounds, and permanence assessments.

Durable Removal Only

We do not issue credits for projects with permanence under 100 years. Our platform requires geological or equivalent storage verification for all registered credits.

Enterprise Partnership

We partner with Fortune 500 companies, sovereign governments, and multilateral development banks to structure large-scale, multi-year removal procurement agreements.
